DTrees at the VDI Knowledge Forum "Power Plant Scheduling – Optimal Marketing of Flexible Power Plants"

At the 2015 VDI Knowledge Forum "Power Plant Scheduling – Optimal Marketing of Flexible Power Plants" on 9 June 2015, Dr. Ostermaier gave a talk on "Valuation of Power Plants in Uncertain Markets".

Key topics of the talk:

• Developments in electricity markets against the backdrop of the energy transition (Energiewende)
• Joint marketing of power plants, with and without heat extraction, across multiple markets
• Cross-market optimization of generation portfolios in day-ahead, intraday and balancing power markets
• Long-term valuation of power plants based on fundamental assumptions
• Example of an investment appraisal for a pumped-storage power plant

Regulatory & Policy Framework for Ancillary Services

DTrees was the official partner of the forum "Regulatory & Policy Framework for Ancillary Services",held in Berlin from 10 to 11 June 2014.

DTrees' Managing Director, Dr. Georg Ostermaier, led a workshop there on "Integrated optimization of spot and ancillary service market offers".

OR and Statistical Analysis with Mathematical Tools – Demos and Exchange of Experience

DTrees took part in this year's workshop of the Austrian Computer Society (OCG). The workshop, titled "OR and Statistical Analysis with Mathematical Tools – Demos and Exchange of Experience" , took place in Vienna on 13 May 2014. DTrees' Managing Director, Dr. Georg Ostermaier, gave a talk on"MATLAB-based stochastic price models".

9th ÖGOR – IHS Workshop: Mathematical Economics and Optimization in the Energy Industry

In the year 2014, DTrees attended the 9th ÖGOR – IHS Workshop on "Mathematical Economics and Optimization in the Energy Industry".

DTrees' Managing Director, Dr. Georg Ostermaier, gave a talk on "Valuation of natural gas contracts / natural gas storage facilities using multi-stage stochastic optimization, taking asset-backed trading into account".
